About the Artist
My artistic practice begins with the exploration and transformation of textile and organic fibers. These materials and their bodily sensations are organically transformed into sculptures and installations, and they also allow me to create a strong connection with nature.
I also like the idea of working with materials that contrast between the organic and the artificial or that generate opposite sensations, it is a way of creating unity in the conflict of being dual beings.
My creation process often transforms into repetitions and patterns, which represent ways of adapting to a structured system influenced by old beliefs inherited from our ancestors and culture.
Dentro de mi método multidisciplinario también investigo el dibujo y la pintura como conocimiento entre mi cuerpo y el subconsciente. Por ello, utilizo mi propia técnica construyendo mis pinceles con fibras naturales. Me interesa explorar el gesto y la espontaneidad del trazo, para mí es una manera de destejer lo aprendido y liberarme de toda estructura establecida.
Likewise, I can make the observer let his imagination fly and develop emotions or sensations in his free interpretation. My intention is to achieve images with a strong symbolic charge and transmit in a sensitive and reflective way how the plots of individual and collective life are interwoven.
